Molly Markham is an exercise enthusiast with a passion for helping others with their bodies, self-esteem, and improving their quality of life. Molly has always been involved in sports, gymnastics, and teaching. Pilates restored balance and wholeness in to her exercise routine in 2002 when she first started taking classes, essentially looking for something that would strengthen her core and create long, lean muscles. Little did she know that Pilates does way more than just that! From then on Molly has been "hooked" and was trained through the PhysicalMind Institute. Molly also holds certifications with Fusion Pilates to work with pregnant and post pregnant clients on the MAT and on the equipment, and a certification on the TRX Suspension Training System. Molly has been teaching group classes and private lessons for several years. She received her Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science, with a concentration in Pedagogy, from UNC-Greensboro in 2008.
Molly's specific interests are working with pregnant and post pregnant women doing Pilates, and sessions on the TRX Suspension Training System. In addition, Molly loves working with all types of shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities to improve overall balance, flexibility, and strength. She modifies all lessons to fit the individual or group she is working with, making their goals and needs the primary focus. Molly has a positive and motivating way of teaching, and is available for group classes, semi-private, and private sessions on the Pilates equipment and on the TRX.

Jennifer Paa, MSPT, LMBT comes to Body Balance Pilates with diverse background in health and human movement science. She graduated from University at Buffalo in NY with a B.S in Exercise and Nutrition Science in 1998. With this degree she worked in cardiac rehabilitation and corporate wellness before returning to NY Institute of Massage to pursue licensure as a massage therapist. She worked in a private practice setting briefly but upon relocating to NC in 2001, worked at Chakras Spa providing therapeutic massage and bodywork therapies to spa clients on a full time basis. Her desire to further evaluate and treat injuries and intensify her therapeutic intervention lead her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy at Winston Salem State University. Since 2007, she has continued her licensure as a massage therapist and has worked at Moses Cone Health System (Inpatient Neuro Rehab and Outpatient Orthopedics). She aims to bring a holistic approach to healing the body through movement and actively engage patients in their recovery. In 2008, she discovered the healing power of Pilates while dealing with a back injury. She has been able to control her own pain and progress her body’s strength and stability with consistent Pilates practice. When discovering the Pilates work on the Reformer, she realized the significant impact that the Pilates apparatus could make on her body, but also the rehabilitation population as well. Her passion for health and wellness continues to drive her to be a lifelong student and Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor to progress individuals beyond what they thought possible for themselves. She has completed the Reformer Series through Polestar International and plans to work towards comprehensive certification.

Erica Thornton, MS, LAT, ATC, is entering her ninth year as a member of the UNCG Athletic Training staff, her second year as the Head Athletic Trainer. Erica discovered pilates on a whim, by participating in one of Judy Frederick’s mat classes in 2006. She immediately saw the potential benefit to any who would commit to practice.
Erica graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from SUNY Brockport in 1996 and a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1999. Most recently, Erica completed her comprehensive Pilates certification through the PhysicalMind Institute in December 2009. She has had the opportunity to teach mat classes and equipment classes for all types of people, each with differing individual goals. On a daily basis, Erica finds the opportunity to introduce the fundamentals of pilates with the UNCG student-athletes, both injured and non-injured as she has discovered the added dimension of body awareness makes a huge impact on both return to play and injury prevention. Erica enjoys working with clients with previous and current injury, those that are looking for a new fitness challenge, as well as those that are anxious to eliminate bad habits and minimize imbalances caused by living.
Erica lives in Greensboro with her husband, Kevin, three year old daughter, Braedy, and two Siberian Huskies
